"What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candor, and more unashamed conversations."
Meet Amy Pacheco
Life is a journey so why not be on a journey that you enjoy?! If you find that you are tired of feeling stuck with your current path and are in search of hope, peace and a new direction in your life, you’re not alone. I am a true believer in our abilities to change and grow as individuals, and to not let our pasts dictate our present or our futures. My goal is for us to work together in a safe space to develop a healthier sense of self, and to gain better insight into the processes and patterns that were developed to help support survival but that are no longer serving you. The hope is that through this space and therapeutic work you will feel more self-aware, assertive, and confident to effectively manage obstacles, insecurities, and stressors that are affecting you from enjoying your journey.
I have approximately 17 years of experience working in the mental health field and have worked with clients with a variety of treatment needs and backgrounds. Everyone has their own needs, and we will address your needs together in a way that allows you to feel safe and validated while also working to challenge unhealthy patterns in a strengths-based manner, along with some humor to help keep us grounded. I am currently trained as a Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS), and an EMDR therapist. Modalities I lean into to help drive the therapeutic relationship and process include Person Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Reality Therapy, psychodynamics, CBT, DBT and EMDR.
I look forward to connecting and working with you on this therapy journey.
I provide individual therapy services to those who are 16 and older via Telehealth or in person. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, burnout, poor self worth, relationship issues, life transitions, personality disorders, substance use and trauma.
As a Certified Addictions Specialist, I have specialized training to help support those who are struggling with substance use and who are interested in addressing their use. This specialized training allows me to help support clients who might be affected by a loved one's use, either past or present, as well.
I have experience and training in supervising clinical students as well as clinicians working on their licensure hours. If you are interested in receiving supervision, please contact me about available rates.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a evidence based practice that has been proven to be beneficial for anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias; chronic medical illness and pain; performance anxiety; PTSD; sleep issues; substance use and addiction.
